Help assistant
The Help bubble inside HyperDM: what it knows, what it refuses to answer, and how your thumbs-up and thumbs-down votes make it better.
The Help bubble in the bottom-right corner of most app pages, just above the Feedback button. (It isn't shown on the flow builder canvas or during onboarding — open any other app page to ask.) Ask it how to do anything in HyperDM in plain words — "how do I set up comment-to-DM?", "why didn't my automation fire?" — and it answers with the steps.
What it knows, and what it refuses
Its answers come only from HyperDM's help docs — the same written guides that cover every screen: setup, automations, the flow builder, the AI agent, broadcasts, billing, roles, troubleshooting. It does not browse the internet and it does not improvise: when the docs don't cover a question, it says so and points you at the Feedback button instead of guessing.
It also cannot act or see your data. It explains how to do things; it cannot change settings, send messages, connect channels, or read your conversations, contacts or knowledge. If you ask it to do something, it tells you how to do it yourself.
Ask a question
- Click the Help bubble in the bottom-right (above Feedback).
- Type your question — up to 500 characters — or tap one of the starter questions.
- Press send. The answer arrives in a few seconds.
Under most answers you'll see From: naming the help guides the answer came from. When a guide covers a specific screen, its name is a link — click it to open that screen in the app.
You can ask up to 40 questions in a day. Model costs for help answers draw on the same daily AI-tooling allowance as the app's "Draft it for me" buttons — if that shared allowance is already spent, the assistant says so and points you at the Feedback button until it resets at midnight UTC. Closing the panel keeps the conversation — reopen it to pick up where you left off (it clears when you reload or leave the app). Nothing you ask changes anything on your account.
Rate an answer — this is how it gets better
Every answer carries 👍 / 👎 buttons.
- 👍 — records that the answer helped.
- 👎 — records that it didn't, and offers one optional line: "What was wrong?"
Votes go straight to the team with the question, the answer, and which docs it drew on — so a bad answer points at the exact doc to fix. You can change your vote by asking again and voting on the new answer.
The Help assistant vs the Feedback button vs your AI agent
Three different things, side by side:
| Surface | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Help assistant (this) | "How do I…?" — instant answers from the help docs |
| Feedback button (below it) | Bug reports and feature requests — read by a human |
| Your AI agent (Agent in the sidebar) | Talks to your customers in your DMs — a completely separate thing |
The help assistant and your AI agent share nothing: configuring one does not touch the other, and the help assistant never appears in your customers' conversations.
Common questions
Is my conversation with it private? Questions and answers are logged (with your vote, if you leave one) so the team can fix bad answers and missing docs. Don't paste secrets into it — it doesn't need them, since it can't act on your account anyway.
Why did it say it doesn't know? The help docs don't cover that question yet. That's by design — a made-up answer is worse than an honest miss. Send the question through Feedback and a human will answer it (and usually add it to the docs).
Does it count against my plan's conversations? No. Help questions are not customer conversations and never touch your conversation allowance.
