Use your 14-day Pro trial
New accounts start with 14 days of Pro, no card. What to try, how connecting adds 7 days, what happens at the end, and how to bring things back.
A new account starts with 14 days of Pro, no card (not on an agency account, or a workspace billed through an agency). There's nothing to cancel: when the trial ends, the workspace moves to Free by itself and nothing you built is deleted.
Who gets the Pro trial
- New accounts only. An account that already existed when the trial launched doesn't get one, and neither does a new workspace on that account.
- One trial per account and per email address, ever. Deleting your account and signing up again with the same address doesn't start another.
- Not on an agency account, and not on a workspace billed through an agency.
What you can use during the trial
Everything in the Pro plan, including 6,000 conversations a month, 1,500 of them AI-assisted. No overage is billed on the trial, and replies carry no "Powered by HyperDM" note.
A Pro trial · {n} days left badge sits in the left sidebar and opens Settings → Billing & usage; on a phone it's at the top of Home. In the last 4 days it changes colour and one banner joins it.
Try what Pro adds on Home
The workspace owner sees a Try what Pro adds card on Home. Until you connect a channel it sits under your setup steps and offers only Connect a channel. Once a channel is connected, it's the first thing on Home and shows your progress ("1 of 3 done").
Nothing here turns on by itself. Each row waits for your click, and ticks itself once the setup is done.
The AI step and AI comment rows need Instagram. On another channel you see only the sequence row. If Instagram needs reconnecting, those two rows offer Reconnect Instagram instead, and the sequence row works as usual.
When all of them are done, the card shrinks to one line, "You've tried what Pro adds", with Keep Pro features, which opens Settings → Billing & usage.
The three rows on the Try what Pro adds card
Rows 1 and 2 need Instagram.
- Add an AI step to your comment-to-DM flow. Click Set it up. The flow builder opens on a ready-made flow, Free resource + AI follow-up, as a draft. Change its keywords, message and link, then click Set live. The row ticks once a live comment flow has an AI step. In this flow a comment gets a private reply, one tap sends your resource, and one more lets them ask a question the AI answers.
- Turn on AI comment replies for your latest post. Click Turn on. HyperDM replies in public to clearly positive comments on that one post, in your voice. If you have no post yet, the row says so: post something on Instagram, then try again. If AI comment replies are already on, nothing changes.
- Start a follow-up sequence from a template. Click Use the template. The sequence editor opens on two messages, sent 1 hour after someone joins and 20 hours after that, and nothing is saved yet. On Instagram you can only message someone within 24 hours of their last message, so add people right after they write: someone added later can miss a message. Edit them, flip Live on and press Save & go live. The row ticks once a sequence is live.
Widen or stop AI comment replies on your latest post
- Go to Agent → Voice and scroll to the AI Comments card. It says it's on for one post only.
- To answer on all your posts, click Reply on every post.
- To stop, toggle AI Comments off and save. Switching it on again from this card means every post.

Get 7 more days by connecting a channel
If you still haven't connected a channel about a week in, we email you this offer. Connect a channel before the trial ends and you get 7 more days of Pro, added within the hour. The new end date shows on Settings → Billing & usage.
- It happens once per trial, so the longest a trial runs is 21 days.
- If a channel is connected when that email would go out, it isn't sent and your trial stays at 14 days.
- A channel connected after the trial has ended doesn't count.
What you hear 4 days before the trial ends
The owner gets one email, and the Home card shows the same message: what you used, what would pause on Free, and the cheapest plan that keeps it, or that Free already covers you. If a broadcast could be running when the trial ends, the email says it would stop there. With no channel connected, no email goes.
What happens when the trial ends
The workspace moves to Free by itself, within the hour. On the Pro trial you're never charged.
- Free's 50 conversations start fresh. What you used on Pro doesn't count against them, until the 1st, when the normal monthly count resumes.
- What Free doesn't include is paused, never deleted, and shows Paused — needs {plan}. The list is in Upgrade, downgrade, pause. If anything was paused, the owner gets one email listing it.
- A broadcast still sending stops there. It shows Canceled in Broadcasts, and what already went out stays sent. Upgrading doesn't restart it: to reach the rest, send a new broadcast.
The window you see after the trial ends
The next time the owner opens the app, one window says what happened. It shows once, and closing it changes nothing.
- If anything paused, it's titled "Your Pro trial ended" and lists up to five items, then "and {n} more". Each says Needs {plan} or, for a broadcast that stopped, Stopped — needs {plan}. The buttons are Turn them back on · {plan} {price}/mo and Stay on Free. If something on the list needs Agency, the first button says Move to Pro · {price}/mo instead, and a line says that item stays paused until you're on Agency.
- If everything it lists is a broadcast that stopped, it says so and each row is marked Stopped, with no plan named. The only button is Got it: upgrading doesn't restart a stopped broadcast, so there's nothing to turn back on.
- If everything it lists needs Agency, the only button is Got it too, with the same line about Agency.
- If nothing paused, it's titled "You're on Free now", with Got it.
When you won't see that window
No window and no later reminder on a workspace billed through an agency, one that has bought a plan, or one whose trial was extended by a free Pro month. A free Pro month landing during the trial makes it an ordinary Pro credit, without this page's cards and emails.
Turn things back on after the trial
- Click Turn them back on · {plan} {price}/mo in the window, or the Upgrade plan button at the bottom of the left sidebar. The window's plan is the one that covers everything it lists except stopped broadcasts and anything that needs Agency, billed monthly. The window has no such button if nothing it lists can come back on a lower plan.
- Finish paying on Stripe's checkout page.
- Back in HyperDM, what was paused comes back as it was.
Something you changed or switched on yourself while it was paused stays as you left it. A broadcast whose send time passed stays a draft: open it and pick a new time. A broadcast that stopped mid-send doesn't restart.
Keep a plan before the trial ends
You don't have to wait for the end. Only the owner can choose a plan:
- Open Settings → Billing & usage. The trial card lists the plans, and the one that keeps what you've used is tagged Covers what you use. The Upgrade plan button in the sidebar opens the same choice, as Keep {plan} after your trial.
- Pick a plan and add your card on Stripe's checkout page.
- With 48 hours or more left: your card is saved today and first charged the day the trial ends. Nothing is charged before then.
- In the last 48 hours: your card is charged today.
Either way you keep Pro until the trial ends, and your plan starts then. Anything Pro has that your plan doesn't is paused at that point, never deleted.
The one reminder after the trial
16 days after the trial ends, the owner gets one email if the workspace is still on Free with things paused. It lists them and how to turn them back on. There's no discount in it, and it's the only reminder we send about them. If 23 days have passed since the trial ended, it doesn't go at all.
To stop it: click Unsubscribe in the email, then press the Unsubscribe button on the page that opens. Opening the page changes nothing by itself. Your account and your paused items stay as they are.
Common questions
Will I be charged when the Pro trial ends? No. The Pro trial has no card on file, so nothing can be charged. You're only charged if you choose a plan yourself.
Is there a cancel button? No, because there's nothing to cancel. Manage subscription and Pause billing aren't on the trial's billing tab either: nothing in billing is running yet.
Can I start the trial again, or get a second one on another workspace? No. It's one per account and per email address, ever.
Why are AI comment replies only answering one post? You turned them on from the Home card, which covers your latest post. Click Reply on every post on the AI Comments card in Agent → Voice.
I connected a channel and didn't get 7 more days. Why? The 7 days go to accounts that received the offer email, about a week in. If you connected before that, your trial is the normal 14 days.
Is anything deleted when the trial ends? No. Flows, sequences, broadcasts, contacts and conversations all stay, and upgrading brings back what was paused.
