The ideas board

Post ideas for HyperDM, upvote the ones you'd use, and follow an idea to get an email when its status changes.

The board is a public list of what people would like HyperDM to do. Anyone can read it. You need to be signed in to post, vote, comment or follow.

Post an idea

  1. Open /ideas and search first. If it's already there, vote for it and add how you'd use it.
  2. Click Post an idea.
  3. The first time you post, fill in Your public name. It's shown next to what you post, and your email stays private. Names with an email address or a link in them, and names that could be mistaken for the HyperDM team, are refused.
  4. Fill in What would you like HyperDM to do?, Which part of HyperDM is it about? and The details.
  5. Click Post your idea.

Ideas appear straight away. You can post 5 ideas in a day and 30 comments in an hour. Text shows exactly as you type it, so links aren't clickable and there's no formatting.

Vote for an idea

Click the arrow beside an idea to add your vote, and click it again to take your vote back. You have one vote per idea. A closed idea can't take votes, and a vote on it can't be taken back. Votes help decide what gets built, but they aren't the only thing weighed.

Follow an idea and get its status emails

Posting, voting or commenting follows the idea for you. Followers get an email when the idea's status changes, up to the first 200 followers of an idea. To stop those emails, open the idea and click Unfollow. Voting or commenting on it later won't sign you back up.

What does each status mean?

StatusWhat it means
NewJust posted.
PlannedWe've decided to build it.
In progressSomeone's working on it now.
BetaLive for a small group while we iron it out.
ShippedIt's in HyperDM.
On holdParked for now. The idea page says why.
Waiting on platformBlocked by what Meta or TikTok allow.
ClosedWe won't build this one. The idea page says why.

Why did an idea disappear?

Duplicates get merged. The old link then opens the idea it was merged into, with its votes and comments, and anyone who voted for both counts once. Ideas that shouldn't be public get hidden, and their links stop working.

What happens to my posts if I delete my account?

Your public name, votes and follows are removed. Your ideas and comments stay on the board and read "Former member".
