How does HyperDM connect to Shopify?+
Two ways. Public catalog import — no OAuth: enter your store address and HyperDM reads the products published in your public storefront feed, with prices and stock status as of the last successful sync; it does not read orders or per-SKU stock counts, and it reserves no stock. The separate Shopify app connection requests read-only access to products, inventory and orders through Shopify's OAuth authorization flow. Available data depends on the granted access and applicable approval. Shipping, returns and FAQ pages are imported separately from your website and reviewed before the assistant uses them.
Where does HyperDM chat — in DMs or on my store?+
Today HyperDM answers in your Instagram DMs, grounded in your synced Shopify catalog. WhatsApp and TikTok DMs and on-site store chat are coming soon — same agent, same catalog.
Can HyperDM recover abandoned Shopify carts?+
No. HyperDM does not offer abandoned-cart recovery. It can send a product's checkout link in the conversation, and revenue reporting on Growth and higher plans uses recorded paid orders — public catalog-feed import alone supplies no orders.
Will HyperDM ever quote something that’s out of stock?+
The assistant receives synced stock and price fields. These reflect the last successful sync, not a live checkout reservation. Missing or conflicting information needs review; test variants and stock changes before relying on an answer.
Do I need a paid plan to use HyperDM with Shopify?+
No. Shopify isn’t a separate plan — it’s the synced catalog HyperDM grounds its answers in, and you can connect it on any plan, including free. Your 50 free conversations a month run on Instagram, and HyperDM answers them from your synced Shopify catalog.
Does HyperDM answer on my storefront as well as in DMs?+
On-site store chat is coming soon. Today the AI Shopify sales agent answers in your Instagram DMs, grounded in your synced Shopify catalog — and the same agent will power store chat and WhatsApp and TikTok DMs when they launch, so customers get the same accurate answer wherever they reach you.
How does HyperDM handle product variants and pricing?+
HyperDM syncs each product’s options — sizes, colors, styles — with its price and stock status, and answers from that sync. When only one option is in stock, its link drops it straight into checkout; otherwise the link opens the product page so the customer picks. Prices are as of your last sync, so re-sync after you change one.
Does HyperDM need a separate Shopify app or theme change?+
No theme change either way. The public catalog import needs no app install or OAuth. The fuller connection is the Shopify app you authorize: it requests read-only access to products, inventory and orders, and adds product webhooks and order data where Shopify grants them.
