What does a Meta outage cost your store?
Every four to six months, on average, a Meta-wide outage takes Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp down at once — and no DM tool can send through a door Meta has shut. Drag the sliders to put a rough number on your exposure, and see how much a fallback plan is worth.
The frequency here comes from our read of ManyChat's public incident history — about 155 incidents since 2018, roughly three in four of them Meta-side.
Your numbers
Revenue that flows through your DMs on a normal day — comment-to-DM, story replies, link-in-bio sales.
How long a Meta-wide outage keeps messaging down. Most resolve within a few hours.
History shows one roughly every 4–6 months. Lower this if you want a worst-case view.
Some customers come back once Meta recovers; some buy elsewhere. This is the share you lose for good.

How this is calculated
$1,500/day ÷ 24 × 4h = $250 of DM revenue flows during a typical outage. At 50% never recovered, that's $125 lost per outage — and at about one every 5 months, roughly $300 a year.
The honest part
No DM tool can prevent this number — HyperDM runs on the same official Meta APIs as everyone else, so a Meta-wide outage degrades our sends too. What a good tool can do is queue and retry cleanly when Meta recovers, and be worth keeping for the 99% of the time the APIs are up. Treat this figure as what a manual fallback plan — a pinned story, a link in bio, a human on the inbox — is worth building.
Estimates only, for planning. Outage frequency reflects our categorization of ManyChat's public status history (~155 incidents since 2018, ~74% Meta-side); your real exposure depends on your traffic, your category, and how much of a fallback you have ready. This tool does not predict any specific outage.
