Both offer flows and AI
Manychat includes AI on Pro and above. HyperDM offers fixed automations, a visual flow builder and an optional AI assistant using reviewed business knowledge. An AI Step on a canvas is not an exclusive HyperDM feature. Test answer quality, uncertainty and takeover behavior with the same questions in both products.
Where Manychat may fit better
Manychat has a broader live channel range and an established ecosystem of templates and specialists. HyperDM’s public signup path focuses on Instagram. WhatsApp and TikTok are coming soon; new-follower messages wait on separate Meta access, and abandoned-cart recovery is not offered. Do not switch if an unavailable channel is essential to your workflow.
Compare units before totals
Manychat uses monthly active contacts. Inactive stored contacts and followers are not automatically counted. HyperDM counts one person engaging one campaign, with a new count after five quiet days or a new month. A person in several campaigns can count several times. Compare a current quote against your own activity, features and overage; neither meter is a sales count.
Run a small migration test
Choose one comment keyword and the exact guide or offer link. Recreate the private reply and follow-up, then test from a designated Instagram recipient. Check the recipient response or tap, link destination, closed-window behavior and human takeover. HyperDM does not automatically import Manychat flows. Disable overlapping responders and verify provider routing before switching that live trigger.
